What does the Atlas statue mean?
Atlas is a Hercules who was punished for hard labor in Greek mythology. In Greek mythology, when the giant leader Titan rebelled against the Olympus gods after the defeat, most of those who supported him were thrown into the dark abyss of hell, while Atlas was punished. The West stands on the earth’s mother Gaia and holds the heavenly father Uranus to prevent him from having sex with the earth mother.
